Amy is a Data Scientist.

I was doing a whole raft of different things (data analysis, science, engineering, software engineering, system administration, target analysis) when I started at the GCSB. I ended up specialising in data engineering as I enjoyed it the most out of all those disciplines.

What’s your proudest achievement?

Coaching the Lochinver House School under 11's C team to an unbeaten 2012 season while I was a PE assistant on my gap year

Which MXT value do you identify most with and why?

Allyship. Without a team that enjoys spending time together and has each other's backs, it's extremely hard to succeed.

I was lucky enough to have started working as a PA in a registered charity located in beautiful Sydney Harbour National Park. I then worked for a telecommunications giant and in financial regulation before moving into a career working for some of the world's top law firms. My organisational and relationship-building skills were definitely tested and honed there! That led me to MDRxTECH, supporting our CEO and COO, and I have loved the challenge of moving into a consultancy, learning so much about the tech world and the incredible projects that our clients are working on.

How would the team describe you?

Cheerful, even without coffee.

Editha is a Data Scientist.

I came to software engineering through studying Biochemistry at university. During my studies I found that I loved working with computational software to study genomic data in languages such as R. I subsequently learnt Python in order to design models which simulate cell behaviour or scan DNA for CRISPR binding sites as well as study inter-atom interactions of proteins. I also worked in web-design and performed computational genetic engineering as head of DNA engineering for my university's iGEM team.

I've since fallen headfirst into pure software engineering after completing a nano degree with CFG, working full-stack in Javascript, Solidity and Python. I like the variety in my work and enjoy producing web2 content through React, alongside engineering blockchain components in smart contracts.

What's your secret skill?

I speak French!

Which MXT value do you identify most with and why?

Ownership. I love to learn by taking on tasks that seem challenging or out of my comfort zone, and provide myself the opportunity to diversify my skillset.

Faith is a solution-driven contributor with over 3 years of extensive experience in data analysis, research, entrepreneurship, project management, team leadership, and relationship building. A self-aware and adaptable leader with a track record of success in team-oriented, fast-paced environments, as well as a strong understanding of the scope of data privacy, including SaaS implementations, APIs, HTML, CSS, Ethics, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and third-party risk. Currently building a tech career as a software engineer with an interest for Web 3.0 development specifically in fintech, smart contract, play to earn in metaverse and blockchain technology.

Faith has a broad understanding of international development as a result of her MSc International Development, Sustainability, and Social Justice degree from the University of Bath. Globalisation, human rights, international security, economic development, sustainability, and global finance are among the topics covered. She is enthusiastic about international development, with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. She has independently researched and written a paper on African economic stagnation, with a focus on Africapitalism as a key to transforming the economic sector, using Rwanda, Ghana, and Nigeria as case studies.

In her spare time, Faith is working on a metaverse play-to-earn game called KoboFarm, which expands on the concept of monetising digital art by allowing users to farm and create African-inspired dishes as NFT. While also contributing to the construction of a cutting-edge smart farm in Nigeria. She also has extensive volunteer and professional research and policy experience, having worked with organisations such as Mercy Corps, Save the Children, Reach Initiative, and the Hult Prize Foundation.

I was able to get into software engineering through self-learning and the Code First Girls Software Engineering Bootcamp.

What are the kinds of problems you like to solve?

I love solving problems that have a positive change in society.

What motivates you?

Being able to implement positive change wherever I go.

Freda is a Senior Product Manager.

I worked multiple regular jobs after finishing secondary school, that coincidentally revolved around website building and maintenance. When I discovered this was a career path I could go down, I returned to university to study product design and now specialise in digital design.

What problems do you like to solve?

I love talking to people and finding everyday problems they have that are just a regular part of their routine. I like taking these issues and creating solutions for them to make their day-to-day life easier.

What has been your most exciting project so far?

Veloce. Having an avid interest in motorsport, building a metaverse for a racing company is something I love being a part of.

I had a natural interest in swarm robotics, so I did a postdoc on complex networks and here we are!

What’s your proudest achievement?

Completing my PhD with a publication in Nature Scientific Reports.

What motivates you?

Working alongside outstanding people on challenging topics.

Jake is a Data Scientist at MXT. He has the attitude to take on any tough data science problem, but has a particular hankering for machine learning, natural language processing and network science.

Jake holds multiple degrees in data science and has previously built machine learning systems within the Government Digital Service. Jake helps MXT's clients to unleash the value in their data by developing innovative data-driven processes, utilising anything from well-established techniques to fresh bleeding edge ideas.
I started a mechanical engineering degree, then realised I enjoyed the mathematics, statistics and computer programming the most. I realised data science was a synergy of those disciplines. After that, I ended up with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in data science.

What kind of problems do you like to solve?

I’m especially interested in machine learning, natural language processing and network problems.

What motivates you?

Working in talented multidisciplinary teams to create impactful solutions to challenging problems.

I started in website management and got pulled more and more into working on new features for those websites, before I became a product manager!

What is your proudest achievement?

Combining UCAS and HEFCE datasets to produce a tool that showed which grades in which A levels students needed if they wanted to follow certain professions.

What motivates you?

Solving complex problems

Jonathon is one of the senior software developers at MDRX tech covering blockchain and AI / ML. He has a passion for building products that will shape the future. He’s experienced in working across the full development cycle from interacting with prospective clients, to system design, to then implementing the code to make it all work.

An ex-entrepreneur who previously led a hardware startup through two of Europe's leading accelerator programs, he’s well versed in binding product development with business objectives. A full-stack developer and data scientist with 5+ years of experience working for award-winning startups. His passion is to combine deep data analytics with innovative user experiences.

The transition into Web3 provides one of the biggest opportunities to flip the script on how we engage with digital content. A major inflection point in the evolution of our digital experience is approaching, Jonathon is working clients to build products to make sure they are ready.

Ownership, as part of being a good team mate I believe it’s important to lead from the front and take responsibility for your work.

What motivates you?

Designing and building great products that solve real problems for people.

How would your team describe you?

Full of energy and passion and someone who always has their back.

Kami is a Software Engineer who specialises in Full Stack Development at MxT. Kami has recently transitioned into tech following a background in social sciences and has an MA in International development.

Kami is interested in developing web3 technologies and is keen to help produce creative, original metaverse products whilst keeping them accessible to all.

I got into software engineering after I was sponsored by MDRxTech to enrol on the Code First Girls nanodegree, specialising in Full Stack engineering in summer 2022.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by creating things that are exciting and innovative.

Which MXT value do you identify most with and why?

I most identify with the MXT value of Allyship. As a team we produce a higher quality of work when we support and encourage each other to grow.

I fell into the role of PA straight after university, and have worked in many different industries and created a lovely journey.

What motivates you?

Challenges, both in and out the office - setting goals and having the drive & determination to succeed.

What’s your secret skill?

Organising team events & sorting logistics

I got into blockchain engineering by coming first place at a Barclays EagleLabs Legaltech Hackathon. From that I received an internship at a blockchain consultancy.

What motivates you?

When I can help solve problems for other members of the team and our customers.

How would the team describe you?

I always come in to meetings with a smile.

What motivates you?

I absolutely love solving problems with design! Having a complex problem and going on a journey to design a product that solves these problems and of course good coffee.

Most exciting project you’ve been involved with and why?

One I'm currently working on, Westbury Music Consultants. I have learnt so much about the music industry but also the complexity of the problems they are trying to solve excites me.

Allyship, because where would we be without our team.

Allyship. I really appreciate being part of such a vibrant and supportive team after a few years of being self-employed. We've got each other's backs, we learn from each other and achieving success as a team feels sweeter than when you're by yourself!

What motivates you?

I love a challenge, so if you have a tricky design problem combined with a tight deadline, send it my way!

What has been your most exciting project so far?

I am currently working on a project with Veloce which is a designer's dream: a cool brand, cutting-edge Web 3.0 and blockchain technology and a highly engaged user base. It's exciting to be involved in something so innovative and fun and I can't wait to see it launch.

Nicolas is a Senior Consultant Software Engineer within MDRxTech. He brings over 15 years experience working on scalable, highly available web applications.

He presents elegant, maintainable solutions to meet the challenges and leverage opportunities of the modern web.

I got into consulting focusing on strategy and delivery in a slightly roundabout way - I didn't want to leave Manchester when I finished university so I stayed to get a Master's in Business Analysis & Strategic Management, which led me onto a consulting grad scheme at a multinational IT firm where I worked with public sector clients. I then spent some time working in sales and for the last two years I've been working in legal innovation/change management at a law firm. I wanted to be more client facing whilst still working on strategic projects so it felt like the right time to come back to consulting!

What's your secret skill?

I speak Spanish!

What's your proudest career moment?

Bagging myself a speaking slot at Legal Geek 2021 where I got to talk about sustainability in professional services to an audience of 1,000+ people. It was a great opportunity to raise issues that are pertinent to the legal industry and discuss solutions that address industry-wide problems.

Rana is a Software Engineer at MDRxTech. She supports the development of new web applications.

Rana started her career in business, entrepreneurship, and project management before joining the technology industry.

Along her career, Rana expanded and managed breakthrough R&D conferences internationally and built new services to help companies get their tech innovations funded.

Following her interest in tech innovations and Web3, Rana developed new skills and trained as a Software Engineer to help clients successfully launch new web and software projects.

I discovered software engineering a few years after starting a career in business, and ever since I have wanted to be part of the tech industry. I started studying software engineering in my own time, and eventually joined a coding community that allowed to work on different projects and develop my coding skills.

What are the kinds of problems you like to solve?

I like solving complex problems with multiple layers. It requires great problem solving skills and creativity to come up with a solid solution.

How would the team describe you?

A great team player who is reliable and diligent in my work

Rosanna is a Junior Consultant within MDRxTech. She has a keen understanding of a wide range of technologies, their possible application, and the strategic and commercial considerations that underpin their adoption.

Rosanna has experience managing innovative and complex technology programmes, balancing divergent stakeholder interests, and delivering effective and valuable results. She is a creative problem-solver who specialises in delivering well structured, impactful projects as part of the MDRxTech team.

In addition to her role within MDRxTech, Rosanna is heavily involved in a number of technology initiatives within The Mishcon de Reya Group, notably M:Tech, Mishcon de Reya's dedicated programme for early-stage technology businesses, coordinating applications and managing strategic relationships. Rosanna also provides key business development support to Mishcon de Reya's Corporate department and is also Co-Editor of The Technology Platform, The Mishcon de Reya Group's dedicated technology blog.

Having previously worked on multiple technology business development initiatives with the aim of growing business in the tech sector for colleagues, my interest in emerging technology was piqued - now in an external client facing position, I harness that interest in order to consult clients on developing tech products.

What has been your most exciting project so far?

Westbury Music Consultants, working with an inspiring leader to build a next generation neighbouring rights music business.

I got into software engineering by chance. I started out as a 3D Animator and spent 18 months living in New York doing an apprenticeship. I mostly worked as a 2D animator, and that then led to me wanting to learn how to code. I was fascinated by it!

What motivates you?

Working with a great team. Support in a team is what gives me the motivation to produce my best work.

How would the team describe you?

Independent, good at my job, and fast at delivering.

Nemitari is a blockchain engineer at MDRxTech. He has a deep understanding of a wide range of technologies including blockchain, cyber security, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Nemitari holds a doctorate from Brunel University London where he was a member of the Brunel Software Engineering Lab (BSEL). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA); SAP Certified Associate; Certified Security Testing Associate (Ethical Hacking); and Certified SAS Base Programmer.

Prior to joining MDRxTech, he worked at a range of organisations within the blockchain space, and delivered projects on use cases ranging from NFTs (non-fungible tokens), DeFi (decentralised finance), governance (on-chain and off-chain), invoice factoring, among others.

What motivates you?

Solving challenging problems and listening to music.

What has been your most exciting project so far?

Working on Damien Hirst's first NFT project, called "The Currency".

What’s your proudest achievement?

Winning an MXT prize that recognised me for my Allyship has been the best moment of my career.

I didn’t always want to be a Data Scientist – I started out wanting to be a consultant and did a Master's in Business Analytics to enhance my data analysis skills. I soon found that I really enjoyed working with data and wanted to learn more about it, which led me eventually to my current role.

What motivates you?

I am always most motivated when I am being challenged, learning a lot, and working with people.

What has been your most exciting project so far?

Building BEIS' Open Regulatory Platform – it's never been attempted before and is both exciting and challenging.

Toba is a Blockchain Engineer focused on developing Blockchain products at MxT. Toba has a background in Computer Science with Economics.

Toba started his career as an analyst, where he gained varied experience across several industries including Aviation, Social Research and Manufacturing before joining the web3 industry.

Toba enjoys using web3 technologies to develop innovative solutions that enmesh transparency, corporate governance, and sustainable business models to deliver value to founders in the web3 space.

Which MXT value do you identify most with and why?

Ownership. I love taking ownership of responsibilities, and understanding what is expected of me. It gives me direction, and drive.

What kind of problems do you like to solve?

Problems where I have to build things from the ground up using first principles.

How would the team describe you?

“Chaotic good.”

Most exciting project you’ve been involved with recently?

You could've probably guessed, but I really do have to say the overall MXT project! I'm genuinely excited to be part of the journey as I think we've not even begun touched the surface on what we can achieve.

What motivates you?

I'm a fairly competitive person, whether that be to win a game or beat my own personal records. Finding motivation for myself can be as simple as agreeing a milestone and then going after it!

On days when it's harder to find motivation I find myself being motivated by people. We're fortunate to have a world class team here at MXT and it is almost impossible to be demotivated when you're used to seeing your colleagues and friends achieving excellence!
