Case Study
A prominent luxury fashion house’s NFT launch

Our client, a prominent luxury fashion house, tasked us with guiding their culturally significant brand through their first foray into Web3 via an NFT issuance. Their legal and commercial teams came to us together – both frustrated with the other owing to their divergent interests and priorities.
We began by focussing on the strategic and commercial drivers behind their planned activities. Why were they interested in launching an NFT? We uncovered that this was not motivated by financial gain but rather the opportunity to engage a new and increasingly important audience while presenting their brand in an innovative light. We devised a coherent business model and co-created key assets with the fashion house’s world-class designers.
We launched an impactful Polygon-based NFT collection with an on-chain relationship to real world assets, garnered significant media attention and attracted positive fan-sentiment, impressed that we broke the mould of drab NFT issuances by fashion houses that typically consisted of launching a jpeg image NFT on an NFT marketplace.

One of the world’s most famous DAOs

In mid-2017, what is now one of the world’s most famous DAOs came to us asking for support in refining its Ethereum-based product prior to launch.
The DAOs product was complex as it aspired to be a comprehensive and sophisticated DeFi ecosystem. We conducted user research and made a recommendation to simplify the initial offering, focussing on what was new and novel about the DAO – the genuinely distributed governance mechanics – and launch with a thin but meaningful DeFi functionality alongside high-quality documentation and ambitious but achievable product roadmap.
Our client took our advice and has never looked back. It is now a mainstay of the DeFi ecosystem, is showing resilience even in turbulent market conditions, and is a model for good community governance projects.
Case Study
A Premier League football club

We were asked to help our client align its internal capabilities and develop a coherent strategy for expansion into the Metaverse, following similar conversations with several Premier League and La Liga clubs.
We worked with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and motivations, which included the need to generate additional revenues ideally from advertising, to engage a younger generation of fans, and to reward fans attending in-person and watching on television.
The project remains ongoing, and we’re excited to partner with our client as it reimagines football as an entertainment product for the next generation.
Case Study
A leading peer-to-peer online clothing retailer

We were asked by this rapidly expanding business to help it understand how Metaverse technologies can extend its customers’ experiences and deepen their relationships.
We worked with them to formulate a coherent and valuable Metaverse strategy and begin to develop impactful experiences and user journeys. We then provided executive training sessions to senior leaders to obtain the necessary project buy-in before proceeding to implement our concept, enabling “virtual try-ons” using AR, within the core business.
Our client was recently acquired by another large e-commerce company and continues to blaze a trail as one of the brightest lights in the next generation of clothing retailers.
Case Study
Smart homes and the future of living

A large investment property business headquartered in the UK, decided that it wanted to provide its tenants with a smarter living experiencing while improving its own understanding of its buildings’ behaviour over time.
We worked with our client’s senior stakeholders to identify the key commercial drivers that underpinned the success of their individual property assets and wider portfolio. We then conducted comparable tenant interviews to understand their existing pain points and possible opportunities. Finally, we spoke with individual building managers to understand the physical constrainst within which we needed to work.
We collected and analysed data from a wide variety of embedded physical devices before visualising it in way that resonated with both our client and tenants. They used this data to inform their behaviours and our client intends to roll-out similar data collection and analytics tools in future property investments.
Case Study
A data marketplace for the Government of the UAE

The UAE is one of the most connected places on Earth, with wide smartphone diffusion, high internet speeds and a huge number of IoT-connected devices.
The Government of the UAE asked us to unlock its data potential by designing and developing a marketplace infrastructure for IoT-enabled and other devices to share and monetise their data in a secure, transparent, ethical and legally compliant manner.
MDRxTech architected a solution capable of making available large, high-quality datasets that can be used, among other things, to train advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning models. The client benefitted from our unique blend of strategic, technology, legal and regulatory expertise and showcased its product at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Case Study
A major UK supermarket

A major UK company wanted to leverage distributed ledger technology to provide better visibility across the supply chain for its dairy products, and ensure smaller actors were being paid in a timely and fair manner.
MDRxTech mapped the existing processes with the relevant operational teams and engaged key stakeholders in the supply chain organisations to understand the key events and data inputs at each stage. We then architected and delivered a public permissioned solution that delivered on our clients’ requirements.
The solution remains in production, has led to vastly reduced payment times throughout the supply chain, and has contributed to significantly improved relations between all counterparties.
Case Study
A market-leading crypto analytics business

A leading crypto analytics business wanted to use artificial intelligence to improve its product and spot patterns that even its most experienced investigators could not.
We worked to understand the business’ product and the datasets, both proprietary and public, available to it. We then focussed on building out a dedicated training dataset and a new machine learning engine that advanced its overarching product strategy while achieving its other aims and goals.
Our client achieved its goals, saw an 11% reduction in the analyst time required to investigator certain claims totalling a multi-million pound annual saving, and reported an improvement in the overall accuracy of its findings and ultimate investigatory outcomes.
Case Study
Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

This prominent department of His Majesty’s Government procured MDRxTech to engineer the Beta version of its Open Regulation Platform, which seeks to provide the UK with regulation that is smarter, better targeted, easier to access and less costly to businesses.
A core component of the work, which includes an ingestion engine and data pipeline, is a sophisticated knowledge graph that utilises breaking-edge data science techniques to infer linkages between the regulatory data, as well as machine learning to enrich the corpus and enable more intelligent analysis of the materials.
The Open Regulation Platform is a cornerstone of His Majesty’s Government’s strategy to secure the UK’s position as a world- leading legal and regulatory centre for a generation, and support the development of new regulation technologies.
Case Study
The National Archives

This prestigious non-ministerial branch of the UK Government sought to produce a pipeline for court judgments in the UK, using a graph database and machine learning to enrich and link its vast corpus.
In a compressed period of three months, MDRxTech architected and developed an enterprise-grade solution that exceeded The National Archives’ expectations. Today the Find Case Law service is available on The National Archives’ website as a free, publicly accessible source of judgments and tribunal decisions.
The data science approach adopted is set out in more detail in this academic publication.
Case Study
Veloce, the world’s largest motorsports media network

Veloce is the world’s largest motorsport media and gaming network, with over 600 million monthly views on YouTube, title-winning real world racing teams, part ownership of established brands such as Quadrant, and the rights to operate the world’s most famous F1 teams’ eSports teams. It is now evolving to be a Web 3.0-enabled business.
We worked with Veloce to devise its strategic approach to Web 3.0, to include NFTs and the Metaverse on its way to becoming the world’s first truly decentralised sporting group. We architected this evolution from both a strategic commercial and technology perspective, and are now engaged to develop the platform. In parallel, we are equipping the Veloce business to thrive by educating its employees and shareholders and designing its core business capabilities for long-term success.
Veloce’s Web 3.0 proposition has been well received, has attracted several million pounds worth of investment, and is on track to launch in Q1 2023.
Case Study
A leading carbon offset and land management company

Our client, an early-stage business, asked us to build a solution to help landowners and managers to calculate and sell carbon offsets from their land more accurately.
The solution included a machine vision engine that ingested drone and satellite data to accurately count trees and their growth as well as peat restoration. Using these insights, which previously required labour-intensive ground-truthing, combined with carbon sequestration research commissioned with the University of Oxford and University of Antwerp, we were able to accurately model the associated carbon capture. We then architected and delivered an end-to-end marketplace for buyers and sellers to transact data-drive natural capital assets.
The client continues to go from strength to strength and recently secured around £2m in funding to further develop its product.
Case Study
One of the world’s most innovative department stores

We were approached by one of the world’s most famous department stores to help them understand and prepare their business for the Metaverse.
Our Strategists worked to define their common mission and vision, tied to their overarching corporate strategy, before visualising and testing concept designs with customers and key internal stakeholders. In parallel, we ran several bespoke executive and business operations training sessions to ensure the existing business was well-placed to embrace and benefit from this new frontier.
The client is already recognised as an innovator and leader in experiential retail, and our work is further cementing this reputation.
Case Study
A data-driven approach to carbon capture measurement

Our clients are a leading environmental activist in the UK and is reinventing the way in which carbon capture is measured, calculated and transacted. The current system is woefully innaccurate and based on outdated models that expose buyers and sellers to accusations of “greenwashing” and, critically, fails to adequately serve the world’s response to the climate crisis.
Having conceived and refined the proposition with our Product team, we led the development of the system to create an attractive, user-friendly and data-driven source of the highest-quality carbon credits. The system uses machine learning and the latest carbon sequestration models to calculate the volume of carbon offset available from a given intervention site, underpinned by research undertaken by the clients’ Chief Scientific Officer.
The client is set to unveil the project later in 2021.

Amplifi

Every day, millions around the world interact with dense legal material in the form of T&Cs, regulatory notifications and traditional legal contracts. These materials are often so complex that their users cannot reasonably be expected to comprehend them. This creates legal risk for their providers, who may struggle to rely on them. Amplifi are addressing this risk, by using machine learning to assess the intelligibility of legal material and providing alternatives to simplify them.
We are leading the development of Amplifi’s risk engines, designing and developing machine learning algorithms to analyse legal material and assess their intelligibilty. We have two engines in production, delivered by our Data Science team in an application developed by our software developers.
Amplifi’s product is live – find out more here.
Case Study
A new, green, engaging approach to cryptocurrencies

Our client is a well-known and respected businessperson, looking to deploy their significant commercial expertise to redefine the crypto industry.
We hosted an intense series of workshops across several weeks with the client, to define their business model, identify the market opportunity and user personas, devise a product concept that met its’ prospective users’ requirements, and design the user journey through the MVP. We focussed on delivering a sustainable cryptoasset with dApps that draw-in and engage users from the outset.
The client now has a clear idea of their product and is well-equipped and positioned to deliver an innovative and impactful product alongside our Software Development team.
